Mogwai's 3 night residency at The Academy was one of the more visceral live thrills of 2009 (yes there's fuck all else to do in November but reflect). For a band who began their career with their very own apogee in 'Young Team' (featuring that moment in 'For Herod'), they've been consistently releasing good, if not great records ever since - I'd venture that 'Happy Songs for Happy People' is the only other Mogwai album that even approaches the majesty of their debut. Their live shows, however, have showcased the band's true magic and so news of a Mogwai live movie filmed by La Blogotheque's Vincent Moon and Nathanael Scouarnec means that their beautiful music will be beautifully captured.
