Well this was a surprise. Despite the infectiousness of Jeremy Hickey's debut album 'Organic Sampler', the idea of one man sitting behind a drum kit reproducing its manic intensity live seemed unlikely. Wrong. For just under an hour last night, Hickey blew the room apart.
His live set up is simple - it's just him, his drum kit and his virtual band projected onto the wall behind him. It's visually stunning but by the end of the night it's the sheer virtuosity of Hickey's playing that leaves a lasting impression.
